Protrusion of Vertically Aligned Liquid Crystal Display Device, Spacer of Vertically Aligned Liquid Crystal Display Device, and Process for Forming the Same

PURPOSE: Provided are a radiation sensitive resin composition containing a specific melamine compound, a projection or spacer for a vertically aligned LCD formed from the composition which is excellent in resolution, residual film rate, pattern profile, heat resistance, solvent resistance and transparency, a vertically aligned LCD provided with the projection or spacer which is excellent in alignment and voltage holding rate, and a method for forming the projection or spacer by using the composition. CONSTITUTION: The radiation sensitive resin composition comprises an alkali-soluble resin; a 1,2-quinonediazide compound; and a compound represented by the formula 1 and/or a compound which has at least two epoxy groups in molecule, wherein R1 to R6 are independently H or -CH2OR; and R is H or a C1-C6 linear or branched alkyl group. Preferably the alkali-soluble resin is a novolac resin.
