PURPOSE: A composition for anti-obesity containing Ephedra sinica Stapf and Amorphophallus rivieri Durieu is provided to remove toxicity of Ephedra sinica Stapf and treat obesity with improved safety of Ephedra sinica Stapf. CONSTITUTION: A composition for anti-obesity with improved safety contains mixture of Ephedra sinica Stapf and Amorphophallus rivieri Durieu as an active ingredient. The weight ratio of the mixture is 1:10-10:1. The mixtue is in the form of juice or powder. The extract is mixture is obtained using water, ethanol, methanol, or their mixture. A food for anti-obesity contains 0.01-15 weight% of the composition. The food is in the form of beverage, tablet, pill, capsule, gum, tea, or vitamin.
