1. A method of transferring heat from a first, relatively cold medium (23) to a second, relatively hot medium (22), comprising the steps of:! rotating the compressible fluid contained in a certain volume (6) around the axis of rotation to thereby create a radial temperature gradient in the fluid, and! heating the second fluid (22) by means of the fluid in a fluid zone relatively distant from the axis of rotation. ! 2. The method according to claim 1, comprising the step of extracting heat from the first medium (23) by means of a fluid in the area near the axis of rotation or relatively close to it. ! 3. The method according to claim 1, in which the fluid sections are thoroughly mixed (12; 27). ! 4. The method according to claim 1, in which the compressible fluid is under pressure above 0.2 MPa (2 bar). ! 5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the compressible fluid is contained in a drum with a diameter of at least 1.5 meters and is rotated at a speed of at least 50 rpm, preferably at least 100 minutes ! 6. The method according to claim 1, in which through at least the first medium (22), preferably through both the first and second environments (22, 23), and preferably through the Carnot cycle or the steam cycle (30-34) . ! 7.
