FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: method of treating recycled water from tailing ponds of gold-mining factories involves step-by-step purification of recycled water from impurities, involving chemical purification from impurities, filtration, sorption of gold on a resin, ozonation, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis. The water is chemically treated with sodium percarbonate taken in amount of 0.25 kg/m3 while stirring for not less than 15 minutes. Further, the water is filtered, the filtrate is taken for sorption treatment on a resin for extracting gold while maintaining flow speed of not less than 10 m3/m2 hour, and the concentrate is taken out of the process. After sorption of gold, the water is taken for ozonation with ozone consumption of not less than 20 g/ m3 hour and decomposition of rhodanides in 15-20 minutes. Water safe from rhodanides is taken to the ultrafiltration step with pressure in the apparatus equal to 7-9 atm and pH 5-7. The obtained concentrate is returned to the filtration step and the purified water is taken to the reverse osmosis step at pressure in the apparatus equal to 8-12 atm.;EFFECT: invention improves quality of purifying water and enables to obtain a concentrate of metals suitable for further processing.;1 dwg, 2 tbl, 1 ex
