FIELD: process engineering.;SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for working metal pipe butts in producing pipelines. V-like butt is made in identical pipes joint area. Pipes butts are cut so that each butt profile has at least one linear section 3 on inner side designed to produce the section of V-like butt section. Said profile comprises arc-like section 4 connecting profile linear section 3 with rectilinear section 5 inclined to profile linear section 3 on tubular section outer side.
