The offered invention can be used in veterinary virology. The method for identifying sheep Nairobi disease virus involves RNA recovery from the biological material. It is followed with conducting a polymerase chain reaction with using primers NSD F₁ 5'TATGCTTCTGCCTTGGTTG-3' NSD R₁ 5'-ATCCGATTGGC AGTGAAG-3', NSD F₂ 5'-AGAGCACATTGACTGGGC-3', NSD R₂ 5'-GCCTTCCAAAGCCAGTAG-3' Thereafter, virus RNA is amplified.
