FIELD: information technologies.;SUBSTANCE: electronic image is divided into units of pixels, an authenticator of the electronic image unit is generated using a secret key of authentication, a digital watermark of this unit is generated from the authenticator of the electronic image unit using the secret key of authentication, and the generated digital watermark is inbuilt in the same unit of the electronic image using a secret key of incorporation, actions of certifying electronic image units with the sender by the digital watermark are repeated until completion of their arrival, the electronic image certified by the digital watermark is sent to the receiver, and authenticity of the received electronic image is verified using the secret key of authentication and the secret key of incorporation.;EFFECT: improved protection of the electronic image certified with the digital watermark against wilful actions of a violator aimed at modification of its content.;2 cl, 9 dwg
