FIELD: machine building.;SUBSTANCE: device consists of model of vessel, of means of its bifilar suspension to supports, of instruments for measurement and record of its free damped oscillations in time. Length of suspension and distance between bifilar can be altered in means of bifilar suspension. The model is suspended on bifilar in lengthwise and cross planes and there is determined position of its centre of weight and its proper inertia moments relative to vertical horizontal and cross axes by the method of free oscillations in air. Further, the model is lowered into a hydraulic chute and is balanced to calculated waterline. The model successively receives an additional load compensated with tension of bifilar suspenders; there is facilitated specified draught. The model is static calibrated in water and there are determined coefficients of its conditional stability; further, the model is deflected and its free damped oscillations are recorded. Summary inertia moments and model damping are determined with known methods; from them there are counted their own values in air. Dependence of connected weight and damping from frequency and amplitude of oscillations is determined with changes of suspenders length, distance between them and value of additional load.;EFFECT: obtaining values of connected weight and damping close to methods of forced oscillations.;3 dwg
