The two-piece belt buckle (1) comprises a buckle element and a buckle base (2) in form of a closed border which closes an inner space (4). Another buckle element is provided for a sliding carriage (3) having an inner middle portion. A longitudinal insertion opening is provided in a border area of the buckle base. The buckle elements are made of metal, particularly carbon steel or plastic coating, particularly polyethylene.
