The storage has a roller bearing (9), magnetic bearing with a magnetic ring (10) held at a spindle (2), and another two magnetic rings (11, 12) held at a spindle housing (5). The former magnetic ring is arranged between the latter and the third magnetic rings. Field line insert (18) is provided in the latter and the third magnetic rings such that magnetic field lines of the magnet bearing are trapped in the magnetic rings. The latter and the third magnetic rings are held in the spindle housing such that distance between the latter and the third magnetic rings is adjustable. An independent claim is also included for a method for supporting a spindle in a spindle housing.
