The aqueduct (1) has a collector (11) connected to a fresh water channel (12) by a gate (13) and to an evacuation duct (15) by another gate (14). An inlet of a flood duct (16) is equipped with a grid (17) for discharging excess water from the river to another evacuation duct (20) when the level of the river attains upper limit. The flood duct is connected to the latter evacuation duct, and a bypass duct (8) and an outlet duct (10) are branched to the collector.
