Use of a biochip for the diagnosis of sepsis and sepsis similar syndrome

The application relates to a nucleic acid and/or protein chip comprising probe nucleic acids and/or probe proteins, which are specific for cellular stress, inflammatory and immune reactions, associated with stress, inflammatory and immune reactions, induced during acute phase responses or any combination thereof and which are immobilised on a carrier in an orderly grid pattern. Furthermore, the use of such a chip for the diagnosis of stress responses or inflammation, for monitoring the course of inflammation or for detecting the severity of inflammation is described.
