A method for the separation of molecules with different excitation spectra, the components of a gas form, which contains a mixture of molecules, which differ with regard to its excitation spectra,in the case of the molecules are to be extracted by a predetermined composition of the extracted molecules to achieve with respect to its excitation spectrum which are contained, andin the case of which the molecules of the gas mixture with laser pulses are excited in such a way that molecules as a result of multiple absorption of energy quanta of the laser pulses are converted into an excited state, in which they are extracted from the gas, so that the extracted molecules in a path determined by the shape of the laser pulse certain composition,characterized in thatthe laser pulses are formed by an iterative process, wherein the composition of the extracted from the gas molecules is measured and is compared with the predetermined composition and the respective laser pulse in a function of the composition of the absorption of energy quanta extracted molecules with regard to its shape is varied.
