The method involves increasing a resistance value and passage time of traffic route sections (11-15, 21-26, 31-33) and traffic route points (30, 111-141, 211-251) during route calculation such that total resistance value and total passage time are set to be minimum. Traffic information indicating traffic congestion is displayed. The same resistance value and passage time are assigned to low order classified traffic route sections and route points in a surrounding of the traffic route sections and the traffic route points. The assigning process is performed depending on time of day.
