The pump (1) has a drive shaft (6) including a cam (9) that is fixed to a pump assembly (13). The pump assembly includes a piston (16), a tappet body (27) and a cam roller (25) that are arranged in the cam, where the piston is driven by utilizing the cam roller. An axial contact point (42) provided for the cam roller serves for axial guidance of the cam roller, where the axial contact point is arranged at distance to a rotational axis (44) of the cam roller. The axial contact point is formed between the cam roller and the tappet body.
