The machine (1) has a cylinder drum (2) arranged around a rotational axis (D) and provided with piston recesses (3), where pistons (4) are longitudinally movable in the piston recesses. The pistons are supported at a stroke-producing raceway by a roll-shaped rolling body (W) that is supported in a borehole-like recess (16) of the pistons by a slide bearing element (20). The slide bearing element is material-fittingly connected with the recess of the pistons, and a hydrostatically balanced slide bearing (G) is formed at the slide bearing element. An independent claim is also included for a method for attaching a slide bearing element for a roll-shaped rolling body in a recess of pistons of a positive-displacement machine.
