The machine e.g. multi-stroke axial piston engine (1), has a cylinder drum (2) provided with piston openings (3) in which a piston (4) is arranged. The piston is supported at a stroke-producing path (6) by a roller-shaped rolling body (W). The body is supported in an opening (3) of the piston by a slide bearing element (20), which is attached at the opening of the piston. The element is produced by sintering process in the opening of the piston. A hydrostatically loading slide bearing (G) is formed at the element. The element is made of a sintering material i.e. bronze. An independent claim is also included for a method for fastening a slide bearing element for a roller-shaped rolling body in an opening of piston of a displacement machine.
