The vehicle has columns (7, 8, 9) whose section is visible in an inner area (1) of a motor vehicle and illuminated during darkness above a door parapet line (T) while driving. Side of the columns is turned to the inner area of the vehicle above the door parapet line and made of a material, which is translucent, and a viewable side is illuminated from the rear part while driving in darkness. A lighting unit (10) i.e. LED, is arranged in a roof (6) lining for illuminating one of the columns.
