The component has two laminate layers, and nano-tubes (12, 18) arranged between the laminate layers, where the nano-tubes are oriented normal to one of the laminate layers. The nano-tubes are dissolved in solvent (14) and flush-cast into epoxy resin or a carrier material i.e. thermoplastic, by spin coating in such a manner that end sections of the nano-tubes are enclosed by the carrier material. The nano-tubes are penetrated into areas of the component and/or into the laminate layers during pressing of the component. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a composite component.
