The device has a stopper (5) attached to end strips. A guide (6) is associated to the stopper and firmly attached with respect to the end strips such that the stopper drives against the guide just before a curtain reaches a blowing position. Pivoting torque is exerted on the end strips during blowing the curtain by the stopper for bringing the end strips in a position in which an undesirable gap is not formed between the end strips and a lamella, and a lower side of the end strips does not overlap the closed curtain.
