Method for determining nitrogen oxide emission in combustion chamber of diesel engine, involves forming nitrogen oxides in injection jet, and determining nitrogen oxide emission by transfer function that is provided into control device
The method involves computing adiabatic flame temperature within a region of a burning injection jet in a motor control device based on a combustion chamber temperature and an adjusted oxygen rate in the combustion chamber. Nitrogen oxide emission in the chamber is determined by a transfer function of relationship between specific nitrogen oxide emission and the adiabatic flame temperature at a lambda value of 1, where the transfer function is provided into the control device. Operating parameters of a diesel engine are adjusted by the determined nitrogen oxide emissions.
