The system (1) has tracking units (2.1.1-2.1.n, 2.2.1-2.2.n) rotatable and/or pivotable around a spatial axis by actuators. Each tracking unit is associated to control units (SG1-SGn), which control the associated actuators. The control units are connected to other control units (SE1-SEn) via a data bus e.g. two-wire data bus. The latter control units deliver address commands and/or control information to the former control units via the data bus and transfer solar altitude data in the address commands and/or the control information to the former control units.
