The switch (B) has a switching mechanism (M) for automatic switching off electrical circuit or individual loads. The switching mechanism is coupled with transmission elements (S1-S3). The transmission elements utilize a part of mechanical energy of the switching mechanism for generating specific wireless signals. Auxiliary release devices (N, U) are coupled with two of the transmission elements and release the switching mechanism depending on operating parameters. The transmission elements comprise a capacitor connected between an energy converter and a wireless unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for releasing a protective switch.
