The medical instrument has suction or flushing canal (2) and a single piece sleeve shaped coating which is fixed in the suction or flushing canal. The coating is formed as a hose (3) which is made of an elastically deformed material, where the coating is blocked by a locking device. The coating is fixed to a connecting tube at the distal ends of the suction or flushing canal, where the connecting tube is arranged in the interior of the instrument housing (1). The coating is made of plastic material, particularly polyvinyl chloride, silicone or polyethylene.
