The wind energy plant has a mast (203), a rotor (207) with a rotor blade and a nacelle (205), where the rotation axis of the rotor runs through the nacelle. The nacelle has a flow channel (211) along the rotation axis such that the air striking on the nacelle in the direction of the rotation flows through the nacelle along the rotation axis and leaves downstream from the nacelle. An independent claim is also included for a method for generating electricity.
