The device has crash boxes (2) e.g. impact absorbers, fastened between free ends of a frame profile i.e. main chassis beam, of a motor vehicle and a bumper and/or a fender (1), where the profile is provided in left and right driving directions. The crash boxes are formed with cone- or truncated pyramid like hollow molded parts (3), which are arranged in rows opposite to each other and connected with each other. Base surfaces and/or cover surfaces of the molded parts lie together, where the parts are deformable to material thickness during crash impact.
