The front end has a radiator (3), which is arranged in a forward end of the front end. A safety margin is formed between the radiator and an upper leading edge (7), especially front hood-leading edge (8), by a crash area formed by the edge (7), especially a pedestrian-crash area, so that, during crash, the force impact on the edge (7) is deformed with energy absorption in a free space of deformation which can be formed by the margin.
