The pump (1) has drive gears (4, 5) lubricated with lubricant in a drive gear chamber (2), and a closed lubricant volume (25) provided in the drive gear chamber. The closed lubricant volume includes a single-use filling, life time filling, service interval filling of high-quality lubricant. The drive gear chamber is lubricant-tight sealed to a high-pressure chamber (10) of the pump, and the lubricant includes high-performance oil in the drive gear chamber. Drive gear lubricant with the closed lubricant volume is separated from a fuel supply.
