The method involves forming a measuring chamber (18) i.e. air measuring chamber, in a core device (16) e.g. foam material core device and/or metal foam core device and/or honeycomb core device, of a sandwich component (10), where the chamber comprises an end, which is opened outwardly. The measuring chamber is loaded with predetermined pressure, and the pressure adjusted in the measuring chamber is detected and evaluated. The predetermined pressure is produced as predetermined low, vacuum and/or high pressure in the measuring chamber. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for detecting a defective sandwich component at aircraft construction (2) a sandwich component comprising two cover layers.
