It is a pedometer having to determine the length of a distance covered on foot is proposed, wherein the pedometer having an acceleration sensor for the determination of a number of steps as well as a pressure sensor for determining a change in the geographical height, and wherein an evaluation unit for adaptation of the pitch length of the measured average change in height per step is configured.
