The machine (1) has a receiving grid (2) comprising multiple places for receiving a piezo-electric work-piece i.e. actuator. A control (9) is provided for portioning the places of the grid. The control is designed to occupy the places in an edge area (7) of the grid with the work-piece. The places of the grid is proportioned in two directions (X, Y), where one of the directions (Y) is oriented perpendicular to the other direction (X). A ceramic component divides an inner area (8) of the grid from the edge area. The control partially occupies the inner area of the grid with the work-piece. An independent claim is also included for a method for occupying the receiving grid with the piezo-electric work-piece.
