The electrode arrangement has a sensor electrode (E) and a shielding electrode (SE1), where the sensor electrode is arranged on a side of a carrier material (TM) configured in a substantially planar fashion and having two sides (TM1,TM2). The shielding electrode is arranged on the latter side of the carrier material and serves for shielding the alternating electric field emitted by the sensor electrode with respect to ground. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for producing a display device; and (2) a device for detecting position or the approach of an object on a display device.
