The device has rotatably supported guide vanes (2), and an adjusting ring (3) e.g. translationally supported adjusting slider, for adjusting the guide vanes orthogonal to an axis (5) of the device. A bearing area (14) of the adjusting ring is arranged at an area that is not supplied with hot gas. The adjusting ring exhibits radial slots (9), in which the guide vanes intervene with an adjusting lever (8). The adjusting ring exhibits tooth contours, which mesh with gear wheels arranged at the individual guide vanes.
