The spring has tubular hollow bodies (21) arranged coaxial to each other and forming spring layers (22). The spring layers are arranged at a distance to each other in such a manner that the spring layers are rotatable around a common axis (25) of the hollow bodies. Joints are formed at the hollow bodies, where the spring is made from fiber-reinforced composite material e.g. textile fiber, glass fiber, mineral fiber, plastic fiber, metal fiber or Kevlar(RTM: para-aramid synthetic fiber), having matrix material e.g. plastic, metal or ceramics. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a torsion spring.
