Disclosed is a method for producing a light, in which a user first establishes specifications for a light, whereupon a light meeting the specifications is determined in a computed-aided manner on the basis of data on available components, wherein the light can include unavailable components. Furthermore, when the light is determined in a computer-aided manner, it is ensured that a record can be created which allows at least one device for producing the unavailable components to be controlled. The method is characterized in that the user is informed about the effort required to produce the light.
