Method for inspecting e.g. bottles in beverage industry, involves imaging containers twice from different directions at time interval, and assigning resulting images to same container for evaluation

The method involves moving containers (2) along a transport path (3) to inspection positions (5, 7). The containers are rotated between the positions, and are inspected from two sides of the path by lamp-camera arrangements (10, 20, 30, 40) in a transmitted light process. The containers are illuminated by different polarized and/or colored light of lamps (11, 21, 31, 41) on the opposite sides of the path, where cameras (16, 26, 36, 46) image the containers twice from different directions at a time interval. Resulting images are assigned to the same container for evaluation. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for inspecting containers (2) a method for optical control of partially transparent containers.
