The coupling has a ball neck (10) provided with a coupling ball (12), and a cross member (30) carrying the ball neck and side members (70a, 70b) connecting the cross member with longitudinal carriers (22a, 22b) of a vehicle body (24) by body linkage elements (44a, 46a). Each side member comprises an end-lateral flat material part (34a) connected with the cross member and a side carrier part (40a) bolted with the end-lateral flat material part. The side carrier part carries the body linkage elements. The end-lateral flat material part is welded with a front side (38a) of the cross member.
