Device for space-resolved measurement of temperature in optical fibers, has direction-based refraction unit, and evaluation unit determining temperature of optical fiber from detected Rayleigh- and anti-stoke components of scattered light
Device for space-resolved measurement of temperature in optical fibers, has direction-based refraction unit, and evaluation unit determining temperature of optical fiber from detected Rayleigh- and anti-stoke components of scattered light
The device has an optical fiber (5) for space-resolved temperature measurement, where light (9) of a laser light source (1) is coupled into the optical fiber. Components (11) of the light scattered back into the optical fiber are decoupled from the optical fiber. A detection unit i.e. filter unit (4), with a direction-based refraction unit detects Rayleigh-component (13) and anti-stoke component (12) or stoke component of the scattered light. An evaluation unit determines temperature of the optical fiber from the detected components of the scattered light in a spatially resolved manner. The direction-based refraction unit is designed as an optical circulator or a polarization beam splitter. The filter unit is formed as a band-pass filter or a wavelength division multiplexing filter. An independent claim is also included for a method for space-resolved measurement of temperature in optical fibers.
