The hollow chamber plate (1) is made of transparent plastic, particularly polymethyl methacrylate, and comprises two plastic plates that are separated by rods. A vacuum part is provided, which is formed between the two plastic plates. The pressure between the plastic plates is more than 10 millibar. The vacuum part is designed in a controllable manner. The hollow chamber plate is provided with a shading unit for shading. An independent claim is also included for an element for the production of solar energy.
