The machine (1) has a shearing head (6) connected to a housing, and a drive unit (21) arranged in the housing. The drive unit has a reduction gear connected to a shaft of an electric motor (9), and the head has a moveable shearing blade (8) driven with respect to a stationary shearing blade (7). The gear has an output shaft (19) coupled with the movable shearing blade and is formed as a planetary gear (10), where the output shaft is arranged parallel and coaxial to the shaft of the electric motor. A pivoting lever is made of sintered metallic part and has a coating made of plastic material.
