The sensor has a layer (2) with a piezoelectric sensor for converting vibrations of a machine element into electric impulse. A display element (4) performs temperature-dependent color change, and an energy storage (3) is provided for intermediate storage of energy provided from the piezoelectric sensor and is unloaded by the display element. The energy storage is formed as a battery e.g. film battery or capacitor, and has an electronically controllable switching element for enabling prompt unloading of the energy storage.
