The method involves increasing and/or reducing frequency of signals lying at an output of a frequency divider at a clock pulse by changing a splitting factor to cause linear gradient or linear descending voltage at an output of a filter. Voltage with two voltage steps is added to the voltage at the output of the filter. The splitting factor of the frequency divider is increased and reduced at clock pulses, where the factor is a natural number or a positive rational number. A phase detector, the filter, a voltage-controlled oscillator and the divider are arranged in an integrated circuit. An independent claim is also included for a device for generating radar signals for measuring distance and relative speed between objects in a road space.
