The device for providing cut-to-length rovings of defined length from an endless roving (102) in a continuous process in air- and space area, comprises a loop-shaped preset device (103), a loop-clamping means (104), a first clamping unit, a second clamping unit, a third clamping unit, a positioning device for selective positioning of the endless roving in the first and third clamping units, and an inserting unit for inserting the roving in a needle. The loop-shaped preset device gives a form of a loop to be formed. The device for providing cut-to-length rovings of defined length from an endless roving (102) in a continuous process in air- and space area, comprises a loop-shaped preset device (103), a loop-clamping means (104), a first clamping unit, a second clamping unit, a third clamping unit, a positioning device for selective positioning of the endless roving in the first and third clamping units, and an inserting unit for inserting the roving in a needle. The loop-shaped preset device gives a form of a loop to be formed. The loop-clamping means and the loop-shaped preset device are implemented to each other for carrying out a relative movement (109) by which the endless roving is clamped on the preset device, where the three clamping units are implemented for fixing the endless roving and are actuatable independent from one another. The relative movement is carried out in a drive plane, where the first and third clamping units are present in vertical direction to the drive plane. The inserting unit is guided to a movement on the needle by which the roving is insertable to lateral reception through the needle to needle. The movable inserting device is implemented as a movable barrier, which is movable from a first position to a second position. The movable barrier temporarily holds in the first position of the barrier, and the movable barrier releases in the second position of the barrier in such a way that the barrier is inserted in the needle. The preset device consists of three clamping units and movable inserting device. The first and second clamping units comprise movable and actuatable components. The roving is automatically inserted in the respective clamping unit through the movement of the components in connection with the relative movement. The loop-clamping means and the loop-shaped preset device are implemented so that a rotation movement guides relative to each other, where the endless roving is insertable in the first, second and third clamping (105, 106, 107). Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for providing cut-to-length rovings of defined length from an endless roving in a continuous process, in air- and space area; and (2) a machine for strengthening a component.
