The backrest (1) has a side wall (5) formed at a foam part (4), which is attached at a carrying structure (2). A cover is clamped and fixed with the wall by the foam part. A stabilization device is provided for stabilizing the wall, and has a clamping element (8) that is connected with a traction element (7) i.e. foamed wire, and a seat assembly part, where the traction element runs parallel to the wall. The wall is inwardly pulled and stabilized with the traction and clamping elements into a target position. The clamping element consists of textile belt, plastic profile cord and wire.
