The device (10) has a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) element (28) staying in direct contact with lubricant for heating lubricant and designed as an electrical heating element with positive temperature coefficients of electrical resistance. The PTC element is made of ceramics and integrated into a lubricant filter device (22), where temperature of the lubricant is adjustable within a range of 120 degree Celsius to 160 degree Celsius by the PTC element. The PTC element is accommodated in a housing that is made of aluminum.
