The method involves supplying an information signal to a central control unit (4), which is locally removed from heating plants (A-D). The information signal is determined from weather statistic data and/or weather forecast data. The information signal is supplied to the heating plants by a control unit, where the information signal represents direct external environment (2) of the heating plants or temperature of the external environment of the heating plants. The control unit is brought in data line connection (8) with the heating plants. An independent claim is also included for a device for regulating a heating plant.
