The method involves consuming food components from a goods intermediate space (GZR) of a package cover (10) in a hygienic manner without allowing a consumer to take bread in a hand. The food components are directly pulled out from the goods intermediate space of the package cover by fingers by detection of rear of goods and required load with corresponding position of an opening aid of a bag (14) in a direction of the back of a sandwich package. A modified tube draining principle is used for conveying the food components in the intermediate space. An independent claim is also included for a device for packaging food.
