The letter has a housing pan (1), a light channel formed in a housing, and a printed circuit board arranged in the light channel. A light unit i.e. LED, is arranged on the printed circuit board. A translucent front panel limits the light channel outwards, and a power supply is provided for the LED. A light sensor (8) measures ambient light, and a control device (11) supplies output signal of the light sensor. The control device controls a power supply (9) for LED (7) such that Light intensity emitted by the LED continuously increases with increasing ambient light.
