The mechanism has a sear (2) rotatable around an axis (1) for locking and releasing a movable firing pin assembly, and a locking lever (5) attached to the sear. The locking lever is connected to a trigger (7), which rotates around a triggering axis (6). The locking lever includes a catch (24) that engages with a matching catch (25) on the sear. A reset lug (15) is provided at the sear and actuated by the firing pin assembly. A control plate (27) engages with a reset plate (26) at the locking lever for constraint retraction of the sear and the locking lever.
