Liquid level determination device for racking plant used for racking of liquid in container e.g. blood reservoir, has evaluation unit for deriving level of liquid in bottle based on emitted and detected microwave radiation

A directional antenna (18) e.g. Yagi array antenna directs microwave radiation emitted by microwave transmitter (14) towards bottle (12). A microwave receiver (16) receives reflected and/or transmitted microwave radiation from mediums in bottle and transmitter respectively. An evaluation unit connected to receiver, derives level of liquid in bottle based on emitted and detected radiation. The antenna is arranged for delivering parallel radiation beam whose level is defined. A liquid level measuring device is arranged at spacing from outer side of bottle. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) racking plant; and (2) method for determination of level of liquid in moved container.
